Hotel Plaza Athenee is a gorgeous palace hotel that is ideally located near the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Seine. The hotel sits on the renowned avenue Montaigne, home to the iconic fashion houses and fabulous restaurants within the Golden Triangle of the 8th arrondissement. Since opening in 1913, the hotel has been a favorite for celebrities and fashionistas, including Johnny Depp and Elizabeth Taylor, and has been the setting for episodes of Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada and Something's Gotta Give. Here are six things we loved the most:
The location provides a fantastic home base for exploring Paris.
The hotel exterior with its signature facade of scarlet-red teacup awnings and geraniums spilling over from all of the windows and balconies.
The design is a mix of napoleonic and art-deco styles, and really inspires a sense of place for guests.
Rooms and suites are gorgeous and comfortable, with marble bathrooms, and some enjoy amazing views of the Eiffel Tower. Families are welcomed with everything they might need, including connecting rooms, strollers, and robes and slippers for the kids.
Complimentary bicycles are available for guests to use to explore the city.
Five restaurants and a bar each provide a unique atmosphere and are all overseen by the notable Chef Alain Ducasse.
