1 Hotel South Beach takes up an entire block on Collins Avenue, and enjoys 600 ft of prime beachfront. The Hotel opened in 2015 after a ~ $300m renovation that included major updates to rooms, pools, restaurants, and more. Here are six things we loved the most:
We were really impressed with their efforts to minimize their footprint and environmental impact. Some examples… all plants throughout the hotel are living (no cut flower arrangements). Each room has water glasses made from recycled wine bottles and a triple-filtered water tap that dispenses drinking water, minimizing the use of plastic water bottles. The “Do Not Disturb” signs for the guest room doors are made from cardboard boxes that the hotel receives and re-purposes. Reclaimed wood is found throughout the public spaces and guest rooms. The room keys are made from five different types of recycled wood (no plastic keys). Their commitment to sustainability is impressive and inspiring!
Rooms are large, light and bright, and include comfortable couches. The entry level King room is a very spacious 700sqft. Occupancy is four per room, and guests below the age of 12 do not count towards occupancy. Our room included two King beds, plus a large couch. 1 hotel is family friendly.
The Studio Suites include full kitchen and a washer/dryer. The 1-3 bedroom “Home” category suites also include full kitchens.
Anatomy Gym is huge with lots of equipment and many instructor led classes per day. Gym access and all classes are complimentary for hotel guests.
Beach chairs, umbrellas, and cruiser bikes are all complimentary and Tesla house cars provide guests with rides within three miles of the hotel.
There are four unique pools, including one on the rooftop for adults only.
1 Hotel is a great option in South Beach for those looking for a high energy hotel, with fabulous amenities that prioritize health, wellness, and the environment, while also being very family friendly.
