Halekulani Review

Halekulani, which means "House Befitting Heaven" in Hawaiian, is on five prime oceanfront acres and has been a Waikiki Beach landmark for almost 100 years. Every guestroom features a lanai that opens to views of the gardens, the Pacific Ocean or Diamond Head. Here are five things we enjoyed the most:

  • Three lounges and a pair of restaurants are scattered among the five connected buildings. La Mer, serving French-style cuisine, is one of the finest restaurants on Oahu, Orchids serves excellent Pacific Rim specialties, and House Without a Key is very popular for breakfast through dinner with its casual regional menus.

  • The 410 rooms and 43 suites are comfortable, and there are connecting rooms available for families.

  • The swimming pool on-property is large and is made up of 1.2 million mosaic tiles that form an orchid on the bottom of the pool. There are plenty of seats around the pool. (One thing to note: chairs and service are not provided on the beach.)

  • SpaHalekulani is award winning and provides an immersive and rejuvenating respite within the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.

  • Guests are provided with complimentary tickets to the Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, the Honolulu Museum of Arts, Spalding House and Shangri-La.
