Four Seasons Maui
Four Seasons Maui 2020 Review
We recently returned from a fabulous eight night Thanksgiving week stay at Four Seasons Maui. We have been returning to the resort pretty regularly since our first stay in 2008, and as a part of this post I’ll share seven reasons why FS Maui is one of our favorite resorts in Hawaii, along with some of our pictures from this trip. In no particular order...
Wailea Beach is beautiful… soft sand, no rocks, warm clear water, great for swimming, paddleboarding, outrigger canoeing, and snorkeling (we’ve seen lots of fish and turtles). The mornings are usually very calm, and tradewind driven waves usually show up in the afternoons which are fun for body surfing and boogie boarding. It’s a fantastic beach for all ages.
There are three great restaurants on property (Spago, Duo, Ferraro’s) plus the Lobby Lounge (love this for sushi, cocktails & live music), plus the Beach Walk Cafe, and there are lots of other great restaurants (+ shopping) that are within minutes of the resort and easily reached via the complimentary house cars.
Three pools including the adults only Serenity Pool with swim up bar and spectacular infinity edge ocean views, the Waterfall Pool with a small waterslide and a very shallow section for toddlers, and the Fountain Pool sitting between Ferraro’s and Duo, and closest to the beach.
The rooms and suites have all been renovated, they are spacious and very comfortable. The bathrooms are huge, and the lanais all have furnished outdoor living areas. For those with families of four, FS Maui is the only Four Seasons Hawaii property that allows up to 2 adults & 2 kids per room.
81 complimentary cabanas that face either the ocean or the pool, and 22 oceanfront sanctuaries tucked into the hillside between the pools and the beach with spectacular ocean views and full F&B service. There are also lots of umbrellas over chaise lounges around the pools and on the beach.
The best resort game room on Maui with ping pong, pool tables, shuffleboard, foosball, video games, 3 televisions, and more. Kids (and adults!) love this space. And, the amazing Kids Four All Seasons program was born at FS Maui and is complimentary for 5-12 year olds.
The resort is taking every precaution to protect guests through their impressive Lead With Care program: All guests must present a negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival at the resort, temperatures are being taken everytime you return to the resort and enter a restaurant, masks are worn in all public spaces, sanitizer is available everywhere and at all touchpoints. Air purifiers and UV sanitizers are present in all the rooms and suites. All employees have completed extensive training and testing. We had plenty of room to social distance at the pools, restaurants, and on the beach.
We felt safe and comfortable at the resort with all of the protections and precautions that are in place, and through all of the masks we also felt the genuine warmth and aloha that have always made the resort a special place for us. We love Four Seasons Maui.
Good to know:
Covid Testing & OGG arrival Experience - We used Vault Health over Zoom and received our negative test results within 24 hours of them being received by the lab (and 28 hours before our flight departed). We uploaded our test results and completed the Hawaii Safe Travels questionnaire, and received our QR codes. Upon landing we showed our ID’s and QR codes and we reached baggage claim before our bags were off the plane. Overall the testing with Vault and entry into Hawaii was fast, easy, and seamless.
