Brown's Hotel London
Brown’s Hotel London Review
In super exclusive Mayfair, just off Old Bond Street, and steps from many of the highest-end galleries, cafes, bars and boutiques, this Brown’s Hotel boasts an impeccable pedigree: Lord Byron's valet opened it in 1837 and it is regarded as London's first hotel. Previous guests include Queen Victoria, Rudyard Kipling who finished writing The Jungle Book in the Kipling Suite, Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie. Here are five things we loved the most:
An eclectic collection of works from leading artists. Brown’s hosts monthly walking art tours introducing guests to the exhibitions taking place in Mayfair’s top galleries.
The Kipling Suite is fantastic with large living and bedrooms, walk-in dressing room, and beautiful marble bathroom. This suite also connects to an additional room would definitely be a very special and memorable experience for families with young kids.
The Donovan Bar, named after celebrated photographer Terence Donovan, is one of the most popular destinations in Mayfair for the most discerning cocktailers. The space is warm and lively, with iconic black & white vintage photos, jewel tones and seating. The cocktail menu is courtesy of maestro Salvatore Calabrese, and the choices range from familiar to ultra rare and exclusive. Don’t miss the “Naughty Corner”.
The decadent Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room is a favorite, complete with white tablecloths, silverware, tiered cake stands and two tea sommeliers.
Brown’s Hotel is both a traditional British icon, and an excellent location from which to explore London.
